Unite All Public Service Workers

SEIU will unite all publicly funded workers to set high standards for workers
 
In 20 years:

• All public services will be provided under the same standards whether they are directly delivered by the public sector or not and regardless of whether their funding source is public or private.  These standards will include high quality, access to services, efficiency, workers’ rights, and full disclosure of information.
  
  
• Every publicly-funded worker will be able to join a union and stand for the best in public services without fear of management intimidation. We will extend collective bargaining to all publicly-funded workers.

Our four-year plan:

• Build on South/Southwest successes. Unite workers in SEIU in growing states in the South and Southwest to raise job and quality standards.  Develop new collective bargaining models for public employees and sustainable local unions in “right-to-work-for-less” states.
  
  
• Develop new models for uniting the workforce of the 21st Century.  Develop new models for helping publicly-funded workers organize and unite their strength. Work in partnership with willing public and private employers to give workers a voice and improve quality.  Develop a strategic approach to the privatization of public services.
  
  
• Use organizing resources effectively.  Develop a system of accountability to spend and share organizing resources effectively to unite more workers in our industries.
